Vegas trip summary March 2011
- Don’t stay at the Flamingo UNLESS you have a “Go” room or better.
- Cirque’s “O” is terribly long and the story is really all over the place. If you want to see a GREAT Cirque show, go see “KA”.
- The long wait for Hash House A Go Go is worth it. The portions are ridiculous but the food is great.
- Seeing Nathan Burton for $10 is worth it.
- The rooms at the Fremont Hotel are much nicer than the rooms at Fitzgerald’s. Smaller, but better. Therefore, if you can’t stay at the Nugget, your 2nd option should be the Fremont.
- If you must use the restroom while on Fremont, go to the Golden Nugget.
- Most girls will retch while trying to drink a bacon martini at the Double Down Saloon.
- The fried chicken at the Silverton’s restaurant is fantastic
- Pampas Churrascaria (Brazilian Steakhouse) in Planet Hollywood is only worth it if you have a discount certificate from restaurants.com. Otherwise, stick with Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil.
- Planet Hollywood has the hippest looking casino in all of Vegas…. but I could never afford to play there.
- Holly Madisson is a good looking woman. Peepshow is a great show.
- The Wild Wild West casino is STILL a shit hole. I highly recommend it.
- The Western is STILL a shit hole. I do not recommend anyone go there.
- The best place to valet if you’re on Fremont is at the Golden Gate.
- If you happen to be a singer/songwriter and want to play an open mic while in Vegas… go to the Blue Martini Lounge on a Monday night.
- ALWAYS ALWAYS sign up for the players club…. it’s free and you’ll get comped rooms (even if you don’t spend any/much money there).
